she dresses like a kid for fun

the doll in her hand came alive right before her eyes. " do you want some tea?" " no thank you. i am just going to have some water." the little girl walks to the stove carrying the doll in her hand. she shows the doll the tea pot and says "but the cookies will go so much better with the tea. at least have some milk." "oh suzie, i am on a diet. i have no intention of indulging myself with cookies. even if it was your mother that made them." as suzie pours the hot water she smiles with glee and exclaims "i am so glad you said that. these cookies are very special to me. my mother only makes them during the holidays and since i have to share them with my other siblings there are very few of each kind. you see it takes days to make just this one type of cookie." she holds up a delicious looking cookies that apparently has almonds. the dolls starts to salivate. " first you have to grind up a bunch of nuts. not just once but you have to grind them up at least five times through the grinder so that it becomes like flour. but these are the best and i try to keep them for last." the doll looked at her and felt happy for her. happy that suzie had someone to love her so much to make special cookies for her every christmas season. at the kitchen table they sat and talked about racism in america and about who they wanted to vote for this election. suzie had many good points but the doll had to admit that she really had not read up on any of the candidates. after suzie put away the cookies to try to show self control she sat back down at the table to finish her tea and they talked about the doll and her family. her parents were made of genuine silk and had settled in the south. they were sad that the doll had moved the north but they wished her well. just as suzie was going to share a personal story of her own she noticed the time and had to rush off to meet a friend of hers in the city. the doll sat there at the kitchen table and began to sink in her chair as she watched suzie gather her things and rush out the front door.
